We, at the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, are looking for funding to upgrade our level of care from a Basic Life Support service to an Advanced Life Support service.
Due to the recent closure of Mary Lane Outpatient Center in June, transport times will become longer, subsequently making the transition to an ALS service essential in order to provide residents with the highest level of care.
Currently at the BLS level, we provide appropriate care and seven vital medications. However, at the ALS level, we would be able to provide residents with a variety of life-saving medications, intubations and perform EKG’s from the moment we arrive on scene.
The West Brookfield Rescue Squad is not municipally funded; therefore, we receive no taxpayer money. We are currently fundraising $75,000 to purchase the equipment required to be an ALS service, such as cardiac monitors, intraosseous infusion kits, and other Advanced Life Support related equipment and medications.
Our priority at the Rescue Squad has, and always will be, providing the families of West Brookfield with the best care. Our Facebook page will have up-to-date information on fundraising.
